DAILY HOMEWORK

- Read 15-20 minutes every night!

- Parents need to initial the assignment notebook everynight stating that your child has read and completed any other homework for the evening. (This is your child's reading log in my classroom)

- Spelling is due on Friday mornings. A spelling preview is given on the first day of the school week. Your child will take a spelling preview test in class and it will be teacher corrected in 1st graders and self-corrected in 2nd grade. Then, your child puts his/her homework into the folder in the front of the spelling notebook. The homework should be completed inside the notebook. Have your child bring it back to school on FRIDAY only.

- Library books are due on Thursdays, so part of our Wednesday evening homework is to bring back your child's library books!

- Homelinks are assigned each day after a lesson is completed in class. Please complete the homelink the night the homelink is assigned and DO NOT go ahead. The purpose of the homelink is to reinforce the current day's lesson.

- Monthly Book Reports are assigned in the beginning of the month and usually due during the last week of the month. The book reports are a great way for your child to learn how to speak in public to their classmates and peers!

- Math Facts for 2nd graders will be due on Thursdays beginning in January! Look for information coming soon!
