It was a fantastic week at Tripp School! On Monday afternoon we had an assembly. It was a Face-to-Face Production. It was about the Wright Brothers and how they built the first airplane. The actors sang songs to teach us about the Wright Brothers. We took at poll to see who enjoyed the assembly: 17 of us liked it, 1 of us didn't like it, and some of us weren't here to see it.
In language arts this week we learned about contractions and continued reviewing plurals and possessives. We read a story called There's Nothing Like Baseball. In the story, Emma and Jamal are trying out for baseball, and they both want to be shortstop. In the end, neither of them become the shortstop, but everyone is happy and enjoys their positions on the team.
This was our second week of switching teachers for math. We learned about estimating to the nearest 10s. We pretended to shop using estimation. We also practiced reading and recording temperatures on thermometers.
Speaking of thermometers....BRRRRRR! It's cold outside! Time to start remembering to wear proper clothes and winter gear for outdoor recess. Don't forget to wear or bring hats, gloves/mittens, scarves, and boots & snowpants for snowy days.
